Agenda

A detailed agenda will be published nearer to the start of the hackathon, but participants should expect to arrive at the venue around lunchtime on Friday 7th March with the event finishing in the evening of Sunday 9th MarchNovember, 2025.

The challenges

Details of the challenges are still being finalised but as a global nexus of innovation and technology, Singapore is an ideal location for our dynamic event where creativity meets real-world challenges. Singapore is a leading global shipping hub and has world-class technology and geospatial expertise, creating the perfect backdrop for developing groundbreaking solutions.

Participants will collaborate to address critical issues in global shipping and logistics, with a focus on enhancing efficiency and sustainability. Expect to engage with complex problems that may involve large data sets, geospatial analysis, machine learning, data visualization, and more. Your skills in data analysis, software development, cybersecurity, UI/UX design, and cloud computing will be invaluable.

In addition to shipping, the hackathon will explore themes of environmental preservation and information security, challenging you to innovate in ways that protect our natural world and secure our digital future. This is your chance to contribute to transformative solutions in a city renowned for its role as a melting pot of ideas and expertise.

Join us for an unforgettable weekend of innovation, collaboration, and cutting-edge problem-solving in the heart of Singapore. More specific details of the challenges will be published nearer the time once applicants have been selected.

Whilst this is a competitive hackathon, it is also designed to simulate real work – challenging but with an element of fun – to see how you work with other people, as well as solve an open-ended problem you’ve not experienced before using only limited information.

challenge #1

Digital security

challenge #2

Protecting nature

challenge #3

Shipping efficiency

Unlike other hackathons that you may have attended, we will be grouping individuals to see how they collaborate effectively in an unfamiliar setting. As such we require applications from individuals and not teams. Teams will be allocated by us a prior to the start of the event.

There will be small prizes awarded to the best performing teams at the event. And as with the previous Mercuria Hackathons, there is the chance that you could be offered an internship position, or even a full time role after the Hackathon has finished.
